Recovery Shock Cord
Rocketman Spectra Recovery Shock Cords
Our Spectra Recovery Shock Cords are engineered for maximum strength, reliability, and durability in high-altitude balloon missions. Measuring only 0.055″ thick, they provide the perfect connection between the balloon and parachute, and between the parachute bridle and payload, ensuring clean, safe separations during ascent and descent.
Key Features:
-
Dual-Loop Design: Each cord has a 1″ small loop and a 3″ big loop, finger-trapped and sewn for maximum security:
-
First Cord: Big loop attaches to the weather balloon; small loop attaches to the top of the parachute. Maintains separation after burst to prevent tangling.
-
Second Cord: Big loop attaches to the parachute bridle; small loop attaches to the payload Y-harness. Ensures clean airflow into the parachute and stable payload descent.
-
-
Unmatched Strength: Stronger than steel on a weight-to-weight basis. Designed for the most demanding HAB flights.
-
PTFE-Coated Spectra: Protects against UV degradation, enhances flexibility, and improves knot-holding strength.
-
Finger-Trapped & Sewn Loops: Loops are finger-trapped and reinforced with stitching to prevent tearing under high loads.
-
Available Lengths: Offered in 3 lengths to suit different balloon sizes and mission requirements.
-
Professional Quality at a Fair Price: Trusted in the HAB community for reliability and long-term use.
Rocketman Spectra Recovery Shock Cords provide maximum separation, strength, and reliability, ensuring smooth, tangle-free deployment of parachutes and payloads on every near-space mission.
