Aftercare and Cleaning
Rocketman Parachute Cleaning & Care Instructions
Your Rocketman Parachute may accumulate dirt from landings in wet or muddy fields, as well as residue from black powder charges. Periodic cleaning can help maintain optimal performance and longevity.
General Cleaning
In many cases, surface dirt can be gently wiped or rinsed off, allowing the parachute to air dry afterward. For more stubborn debris, additional cleaning steps may be required.
Recommended Cleaning Method
-
Spot Cleaning: Use a damp, non-abrasive cloth to remove localized dirt or stains.
-
Hand Washing: For deeper cleaning, hand wash the parachute in cold or lukewarm water with a mild, gentle detergent.
-
A bucket or bathtub works best for safely submerging and cleaning the canopy.
-
Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive tools.
-
Important Warnings
-
Do NOT machine wash. Washing machines can cause line tangling and potential fabric damage.
-
Do NOT use a clothes dryer. High heat may shrink or weaken the parachute fabric, resulting in long-term damage.
Drying Instructions
-
Hang the parachute on a clothesline or similar setup to air dry completely.
-
A small fan may be used to accelerate the drying process.
-
Ensure the parachute is fully dry before storage to prevent mildew, odor, or fabric degradation.
